ONBOARDING PROCESS

Thank you for choosing Schack Tax Advisors! We are happy you have chosen to partner with us for your professional needs, and we look forward to servicing you and your family for many years to come! The onboarding process below outlines the steps our firm follows to ensure a smooth onboarding for every new client, whether you have chosen the Compliance Package or the Concierge Package. For those clients that have chosen the Concierge Package or those with separate business entities, additional processes will be involved.

  • Schedule Discovery Call

    We use Calendly so you can see our availability and schedule the discovery call for a time that works best for you! This Zoom call is an opportunity to discuss your needs and to determine if we are a good match to work together.

  • Activate TaxDome Account

    After our discovery call, you will receive an email from TaxDome with a link to activate your account. We use TaxDome as our firm portal, which allows us to exchange documents securely, electronically sign documents, and pay invoices.

  • Sign Engagement Letter

    Once TaxDome is activated, you will see a copy of your engagement letter that you will need to review and electronically sign. We upload these in December each year for the following tax season. We will not be able to include you on our client list for the next year until this has been signed.

  • Pick Service Plan

    You will be able to choose the service plan that works best for you and your family. Each of our service plans is tailored to those with different needs, which you can find on the pricing tab. These can be changed each year to match your changing needs for services.

  • Complete Tax Organizer

    We provide a tax organizer in TaxDome, which asks a variety of questions to help us ensure that there is not missing information. We upload these in January each year for the current tax season. We cannot begin preparing your tax return until this is completed.

  • Upload Documentation

    We provide a checklist in TaxDome for your guidance, which provides a guide to the documentation that should be uploaded. This limits the amount of emails you receive asking for additional information, speeding up the completion of your tax return. For returning clients, this information will be based on the prior year information.

  • Document Review Call

    Once we review your tax organizer and tax documentation, we will schedule a short 15-minute call with you to review everything before tax preparation. This ensures we are not missing information and your tax return is ready to be completed from beginning to end, without scattered information request emails slowing down the process.

  • Pay Invoice

    After our tax document review call, we will upload the invoice for our services. We require payment in full prior to starting tax preparation.

  • Review Tax Return

    Once we complete your tax return, a draft copy gets uploaded to TaxDome for your review, including a recorded Loom video explaining your tax return line by line.

  • Sign Authorization

    Once you have reviewed and understand your tax return, signing your electronic filing authorization gives us permission to file your tax return.

  • Tax Return Copy

    Once your tax return has been accepted by the taxing authorities, we upload the filed copy for your records. The filed copy will include a Submission ID number, which is proof that your tax return was filed and accepted by the taxing authorities.
